Important announcement: Conference Program uploaded(New!!)

Thank you very much for cooperating and participating in the 2022 World P&OM online Conference.
We have made the conference program as follows. Due to technical reasons it would be very difficult to introduce changes.
In relation to presentations, remember that the World P&OM 2022 is an online live Conference, where presenters are asked to do live presentations allowing an active exchange with attendants.
Although this is an option clearly not desired by the Organization, if for any specific and strong reason you could not present your paper in a live format, please let us know in time and we could allow you to do a pre-recorded presentation (on demand). In this case, you should upload your video presentation (15 minutes length) on the platform from August 10th to 17th. The Zoom operator will play your video on time during your session.
The Organization will record all Conference presentations (including keynote sessions). These recorded presentations, as well as the pre-recorded ones for on demand presentations, will be made accessible to all participants to be watched for 4 weeks after the Conference (except in cases where the authors express their disagreement in this regard).
Even for pre-recorded presentations (on demand), you can use the “Comment” function to ask and answer questions before and after the presentation. This period is available for four weeks after the conference. If there are overlapping presentations and you were unable to attend a session online, you can watch the video later and make comments or ask questions. We encourage you to make the most of the comment function.

Important announcement: change in the 6th World P&OM Conference format
With deep regret we must inform you that the World P&OM Organizers have decided to hold the conference in a fully on-line format. This has been a very difficult decision, reached after extensive and careful research on the feasibility of in-person, or a hybrid format as our preferred alternative.
In addition to stringent border requirements including visa, an ERFS (Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System) certificate and the risk of various possible quarantine periods, there are also burdensome in-person conference site requirements for the organizers in case a participant tests positive for Covid-19. Whilst globally the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic is receding, it is unfortunate that in Japan, the more the border restrictions are relaxed, the more the social obligations and responsibilities of containing Covid-19 are shifted to the official organization receiving foreign visitors to Japan, in our case our conference organization. To make matters worse, researchers in some countries still cannot enter Japan, and some Japanese university and industry participants including some of our fellow organizers are still not allowed to attend conferences in-person.
In light of these circumstances, with regret we have decided that a fully on-line conference is the only feasible and safe format for our World P&OM community. Although you may share our disappointment, rest assured that we have done everything we could to maintain the in-person tradition of the World P&OM Conferences. Unfortunately, it has not been possible. We hope that a P&OM in-person event in Japan will be possible in the not-too-distant future.
We greatly appreciate your understanding of this decision and your continued support for another successful World P&OM Conference. Our on-line conference format will combine on-line keynote speeches and research presentations, on-demand pre-recorded presentations, and on-line Q&A sessions along with on-line networking. Subject to the author’s consent, access to pre-recorded conference presentation videos will be available for one month after the Conference.

The new early bird registration due date is June 15, 2022, JST. At least one author of each presentation must make the payment by that date. Otherwise, the paper and its presentation will be automatically withdrawn from the conference program. One single author cannot represent more than 2 papers.
Refunds will be made to those who have already paid the higher, in-person fee.
Note 1: The member fee category applies to members of JOMSA, EurOMA, POMS, DSI and other sponsoring and supporting organizations as ASCOM, ACEDE-ACEDEDOT, and ANZAM.
Conference News (April 29th, 2022)
Given on-going variabilities around international travel conditions and Covid-19 related regulatory compliance issues in Japan, we are considering the possibility of on-line presentation. In addition, to increase the flexibility of making travel decisions, we will push back the deadline for early registration. We will announce the details in the middle of May. Besides, the full paper submission due date has been extended to the end of May as a response to the request from many authors.

We will hold this conference from August 23rd to 26th, 2022.
Now we will restart the registration system after September 1st, 2021.

New Important Postponement Announcement
The Conference Steering Committee announces:
Dear friends and colleagues
Considering that the 6th World Conference on Production and Operations Management (P&OM Nara 2020) is about face-to-face, in person communication and the current worldwide harmful developments concerning COVID-19 (i.e., Third (still) growing wave, virus mutations, slow ramp-up of vaccinations, …), the Steering Committee has decided with great regret to postpone it to August 23-26, 2022. It has been decided to announce it now to reduce planning uncertainty for our community. The venue remains Nara. We will keep the brief name of P&OM Nara 2020 in order to maintain the 4 years interval between World P&OM Conferences (so the subsequent P&OM World Conference will be still in 2024).……“
The conference theme and topics stay the same but with the addition of the impact of COVID-19 on supply chains and operations. The conference committees will work hard to make the P&OM Nara 2020 Conference a great successful forum in 2022 to proactively address post outbreak operation and supply management issues.
Registration and abstract submission are now closed. Registration fees received to-date will be refunded (except if participants wish to keep it for the 2022 fees) and there will be a new round of registration and submissions. Registration information and abstracts submitted already will be kept in our database, which can then be reused or revised after we reopen the registration and submission process.
